MUMBAI - Chris Gayles interview on KLAS Sports, a radio station in Jamaica, is talk of the town in Carribian Island. In his hard hitting interview in April, Gayle had criticised the team coach Ottis Gibson and the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) officials. Now the former skipper is struggling to find a place in the team. In some quarters, the interview is seen as controversial based on the sentiments expressed by Gayle...Some persons feel that he said too many things, others wanted him to say even more, Tony Young, the Programme Executive at KLAS Sports Radio Station said exclusively from Jamaica. What we can tell you is that the interview has been the talk of the cricketing world. The coach was called as 'user and Gayle blamed him in the interview for wrecking the confidence of his fellow veteran teammate Ramnaresh Sarwan during the World Cup. The coach messed up the man mentally, he said. The players were not in the right frame of mind. Sarwan was batting without a free mind. Players told me they lost confidence. A player speaks his mind in team meetings openly - the player said his piece - after that, he never play another World Cup match. But I talk with my mouth and I talk with my bat. We dont know if Chris Gayle is being dropped from the West Indies team because of the interview he did on Klas. What we have been told is that the West Indies Cricket Board wanted to speak with Gayle based on statements and allegations he made during the interview, Young further added. No, there are no more interviews are lined up with Gayle, Sarwan or Chanderpaul, Young confirmed.
