ISLAMABAD - Federal Interior Ministry has ordered constitution of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe into the theft of 5,634 passports from the office of Travel Agents Association in Karachi. The JIT would also look into the security aspects of the matter. The Ministry has also passed on directions to DG Immigration and Passports for cancellation of all those passports and has sought a compliance report in 24 hours. A spokesman of the Ministry of Interior informed that Interior Minister had ordered the constitution of JIT that would also keep in view the possible involvement of the staff concerned. The minister has also ordered to investigate as under what authority so many passports were kept in the premises without proper security.
