OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Secretary Health Punjab has constituted a special squad comprising Directors of Medical Equipment Workshops of Lahore, Sargodha and Multan for maintenance of out of order medical equipment and machinery at public sector hospitals. Chairing a meeting of special team members here on Friday, Director General Health Punjab Dr Muhammad Aslam Ch said that Tehsil and District Headquarters Hospitals have been linked with three workshops and directors of these would visit various districts to inspect medical equipment and maintain a constant contact with medical superintendents of the hospitals. Directors of Medical Workshops have been directed to ensure the timely repair and maintenance of out of order medical equipment in accordance with the lists sent by Medical Superintendents and arrangements be made for the auctioning of redundant machinery. They have also been directed to immediately point out any official or technician involved in damaging medical equipment immediately to the Health Department so that strict action could be taken against such elements. Meanwhile, Nazma Iftikhar, senior subject specialist, Government College for Elementary Teachers (W) Kot Lakhpat, Lahore, has been promoted to the rank of Director Public Instruction (SE/EE) or other equivalent posts (BS-20) on regular basis in her cadre and upon promotion, she has been transferred and posted as Director (Admn.), Directorate of Public Instructions (SE), Punjab, Lahore. The services of Muhammad Tariq Saeed, Deputy Director, Audit, Works, Lahore have been placed at the disposal of Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Department, Government of the Punjab on deputation basis for further posting as Procurement Officer.
