LAHORE - A man shot dead his 20-year-old sister for contracting love-marriage in the Hanjarwal police limits on Monday. The deceased, identified as Asifa Bibi, had eloped with her boyfriend about a month ago and contracted love-marriage against the will of the family. She had been residing along with her husband, Sajid, in a rented house in the Factory Area.
The family told the police investigators that Aslam visited his sister’s house and managed to convince Asifa to come back home. As she came back home Monday, he took her to the bedroom and opened fire on her.
The newly-wed woman sustained two bullets and was rushed to a hospital, where doctors pronounced her as brought dead. The killer managed to escape. The police have shifted the body to the morgue and are investigating.
