Supreme Court larger bench constituted to hear government's petition on 23 June

ISLAMABAD- A larger bench of Supreme Court (SC) has been constituted to hear petition filed by federal government against Sindh High Court (SC) decision, on removing former president Pervez Musharraf's name from ECL.
The bench will hear the federal government's petition on June 23, while government's plea for early hearing of the case was rejected by the court. Notices have been issued to the parties concerned in this case.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani has remarked “larger bench has been constituted to hear this case. The bench will hear it on June 23, 2014. Court has already heard the petition seeking early hearing of the case; therefore, there is no justification for filing and hearing of new application seeking early hearing of the case.” The CJP issued these orders to registrar SC office.
It may be mentioned that government had again filed application through Attorney General (AG) seeking early hearing of the case and had requested the court to fix the case for hearing on Tuesday. The court however rejected this application remarking it has already heard it, therefore, filing new application stands to no justification.
Sources said 5-member larger bench constituted to hear the case will be headed by Justice Nasir ul Mulk and comprising Justice Anwar Zahir Jamali, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa and Justice Afzal Khan.
