KARACHI   -  President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi and Sindh Assembly member Khurram Sher Zaman while addressing a press conference at Insaf House on Thursday said that Karachi had been ignored in Sindh budget.

Last year 19 projects were set up for Karachi in which not a single rupee was spent on 12 projects. Karachi was running the whole country, such attitude towards Karachi was unbearable.

Members of Sindh Assembly Saeed Afridi, Jamal Siddiqui, Raja Azhar, Shehzad Qureshi, PTI leader Sameer Mir Sheikh and Faraz Lakhani were present on the occasion.

Khurram Sherzaman further said that the incompetent Chief Minister did not say in his budget speech how the transport system would be made effective, there was nothing in this budget regarding the transport system. The biggest problem of Karachi was clean water, we hoped that the citizens of Karachi would be saved from the tanker mafia but the Chief Minister did not speak against the tanker mafia.

He further said that PTI was going to complete K4 project. PTI had given 52 fire tenders to Karachi, The Sindh government does not have staff for these 52 fire tenders. There is a shortage of ambulances in the province. No strategy for ambulances has been formulated in the budget. Innocents are dying from rabies, no work has been started for vaccinating dogs. Millions of gallons of water are wasted in the sea, no steps are being taken for water filtration. The Sindh government did nothing for Karachi Safe City, couple were shot dead last night. The affected family is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Khurram Sherzaman further said that the Chief Minister had not given any plan for the sanitation system. What can be expected from a Chief Minister who cannot clean the city’s drains, eliminate dogs & provide fire brigade and ambulances? No quota has been kept in government jobs for the youth of Karachi. The youth of Karachi is an educated youth. 

Many employees were recruited on fake domiciles, Sindh government does not want to improve the system. He said that people could not have any hope from those who were corrupt even in the department of Zakat. He further said that there was no traffic system in Karachi. The Sindh Building Control Authority was not under the control of the Sindh government. We request the Chief Justice to arrest the then DG who was involved in illegal constructions. It is not the fault of the people but the fault of those involved in the construction of the buildings. The business community of Karachi is helpless today. They are not being given relief. No announcement has been made in the budget for the business community of Karachi. The Sindh government will not spend even 70 per cent of Rs110 billion. Karachi Water Sewerage Board and KDA are hotbeds of corruption. If there is any shame in the Chief Minister, he should resign. Billions of rupees are being corrupted in Sindh departments.

Khurram Sherzaman added that fighting was being waged in Punjab and Sindh over water. The health system in Sindh was in a state of despair. They said people from all over the province came to Karachi for treatment because they had no health system in Larkana, Dadu, Nawabshah and other citizens and districts.
