Despite going through the 3/3 trauma in Lahore, the brave Sri Lankan cricket team reached home in a positive mood unlike the umpires, who publicly LBWed the security arrangements. All credit to the cricketers as well as the people of Sri Lanka for their generous and optimistic attitude. I propose the President should nominate a delegation comprising the past Pakistani cricket superstars and the bus driver, Mehr Khalil Ahmed to visit Colombo on a goodwill mission to pay tribute to the Sri Lankan cricket team. Little Master Hanif Muhammad should lead this group. It is also suggested that no PCB officials or politicians should be in the delegation. The delegation should take gifts and momentoes from Pakistani government for presentations in Colombo. Personal messages for the Sri Lankan President and Prime Minister from their Pakistani counterparts should be conveyed by this delegation. This would send the right message to ICC as well as to all the cricket playing nations that we care. -MIKE BAXTER, Karachi, via e-mail, March 6.
