ISLAMABAD - Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani called on President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday. He briefed the President about the current development activities in different areas of the province of Balochistan. The President assured him that the government was keen in providing all possible assistance for the uplift of Balochistan in order to eliminate the problems being faced by the people there. Online adds: Zardari underlined that the government had fulfilled promise made by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to the masses regarding restoration of all sacked judges, maintaining that no one will be allowed to destabilise democracy in the country. He expressed these views during his meeting with Raisani. Sources said that a host of issues came under discussion, which included present political scenario, reconciliation process, development work in Balochistan and other issues. The President said that undoubtedly promise made by Shaheed BB had been fulfilled. He was of the view that time has come for all political forces to come forward and strengthen the democratic process and national institutions. He said that we did not believe in politics of confrontation. President said that judges have been restored for strengthening democratic institutions in the country. He said the government will not leave people of Balochistan alone in hour of need. On the other hand, Raisani termed the reinstatement of deposed judges as an enriching sign besides review petition against Sharifs' disqualification. The CM Balochistan also informed President regarding security situation in the province, measures taken for the recovery of abducted UNHCR representative John Solecki.
