Shahnaz is an artist with a difference that combines a depth of aesthetics and a breath of subjects and styles, each more fascinating and beautiful than the other. Her versatility and serene choice of colours always carry a sense of beauty and mystic grandeur. Her exhibitions at home and abroad draw applause, both from critics and art lovers while in 2004, Shahnaz displayed some of her paintings at Dayton Miamisburg Guild Art Gallery of USA depicting heritage sites of Pakistan and motifs of Mughal architecture. According to art critics, Shehnaz in her architectural work has given a new life to the cultural heritage sites of India and Pakistan by presenting them as her dreamy visualisation. She also studies the Mughal architecture artworks and makes ornamental paintings depicting the richness and intricacy in their motifs, patterns and designs. Her compositions with architectural forms give added depth to the historical monuments. Her oil paintings and canvas demonstrate exquisite control of active and void area, delicacy and sensitive composition with bold application of patchy colour, creating excitement of creative sophistication.
