So very nuanced

Shahbaz Sharif and his party leaders have never condemned the Taliban terrorism publicly. Nawaz Sharifs meeting in the past with Osama Bin Ladin are well-reported in the international press. The close relationship of PML-N with banned religious outfit is also known to everyone. In recent by-elections in district Jhang, from where Azam Chaila (of a banned religions organization) was elected MNA, he was openly supported by Punjab government. In presence of the Law Minister of Punjab, slogans against another sect and Pakistan Army were also raised in a public rally here. Instead of taking action against the Punjab Law Minister, who is the principal spokesperson of Punjab government and manages its special investigation cell of terrorist related cases, the CM defended him. As long as our political parties are influenced by these religious extremists, they would remain in the quest to take over Pakistan by force. The people of Pakistan have the right to know where does the Chief Minister Punjab stand on Taliban because his one irresponsible statement has already given a wrong message to people in the other provinces. He has appeared to be opposing policy of the federal government. The Sharif Brothers need to come clean with people of Pakistan on whether they are against religious extremists and their ideology or not. They should not have indulged in political expediency at the cost of peoples lives and sovereignty of the state. By making a common mission with Taliban, they are seen to be one with the agenda of the mullahs. If they stand with Taliban, they have no right to rule Punjab. -ENGR.S. T. HUSSAIN, Lahore, March 17.
