JHANG - At least 14 people including four women were killed while eight others sustained serious injuries in separate incidents and road accidents here.

In the first incident, an old enmity claimed life of Rab Nawaz, a resident of Chak 198JB. Rab Nawaz, Muzaffar Khan and Haq Nawaz were asleep when five armed men opened indiscriminate fire on them. As a result, Rab Nawaz died on the spot while Haq Nawaz and Muzaffar received serious bullet injuries and were brought to the DHQ Hospital.

In the second incident, one Atif Shahzad with connivance of his father Allah Ditta, residents of of Mohallah Aimanabad, shot dead his wife Shakeela over a family dispute. In a road accident, Ghulam Jaffar and his friend Allah Yar of Shabbirabad were crushed to death by a speeding truck (LET 1272) when they were crossing the Jhang-Chiniot Road. Both the friends died on the spot. Likewise, Fakhra, Naila and Muhammad Ismail were killed on the spot when their car (MN-924) collided against a truck loaded with sugarcane near Adda Rajaabad on the road.

Similarly, another speeding car hit a rickshaw of school children near New Lari Adda. As a result, six school children Nabeela, Farzana, Atia, Subhan Ali, Iqra and Ahmed sustained serious injuries and removed to a hospital. Muhammad Ashraf, a resident of Kot Shakir, hanged himself to death.

In another incident, Muhammad Shakeel, a resident of Mouza Sultanpur, was hit by an over speeding motorcycle on Jhang-Bhakkar Road when he was going home a bicycle.

Ahmad Nawaz, a resident of Mouza Daluwal, was shot dead by his nephews Ghulam Abbas, Allah Ditta and Rana Khan on a land dispute. Then two people Abdul Nasir, a resident of Chak 202 JB of Kashmir Colony, and Mansab Ali, a resident of Chak 160, were electrocuted. Mumtaz Ahmad of Jhang City was killed when he fell down from a trolley. However, Rashan, a resident of Chak 266 was crushed to death by a car.
