LAKKI MARWAT - The government has released Rs 200 million to Wapda for launching work on Kurrum Tangi Dam project, claimed Awami National Party MPA Yasmeen Zia on Saturday.

Talking to this correspondent on telephone, she said that Wapda would get additional funds of Rs 240 million in May for the dam project. She said that to start work on the construction of KT dam was the longstanding demand of the residents of southern districts and the ANP-led government materialised it.Without naming any particular politician she said that the political elite from the district who had been in corridors of power since the last four decades did not take any practical steps for the construction of Kurrum Tangi dam.
