RAWALPINDI  - In connection with the Pakistan Day celebrations, a seminar titled "Character building of youth for bright future of Pakistan" was held at the Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) here on Monday.

The seminar was arranged in collaboration with the Quaid-e-Millat Liaqat Maroriaral Committee. Dr Sami Ullah Qureshi, former Ambassador, and Mehfooz Nabi were the chief guests on the occasion.

In her presidential address, Prof. Dr. Naheed Zia Khan, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, welcomed the respected guests and said that self-recognition is not separate from society to which he/she belongs. She stressed for taking steps for the uplift of the country among international comity. "If you know yourself then no one denies your status/presence and future of any nation depends upon this thing" she added.

Speaking on the occasion, Mehfooz Nabi said that relation of man with society was very important and unless and until a person had not good qualities, the society could not progress.

"If we talk about character building we have role models like Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH)," he said.

Talking about women, he said, we have examples of determined brave ladies such as Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Rana Liaqat Ali Khan and Benazir Bhutto, former PPP Chairperson, who worked in the field of politics and proved that women were not less than men and capable to work in any field.  While sharing his views, Dr Sami Ullah Qureshi said that character building played a vital role in the development of a person as a part of his nation. The words without actions were hollow and have no impact on the listener. Without the character there was no value or confidence.
