SHIKARPUR - Larkana Deputy Inspector General Khadim Rind took notice of the murder of two girls for honour over love marriage feud on the directives of a jirga, and constituted a committee to probe into the incident.

In Wazirabad of Shikarpur, two girls belonging to Mehr tribe entered in love marriage with men of Jagirani tribe.

The jirga headed by PML-F MNA Ghaus Bakhsh Mehr declared the girls 'kari' and shot them dead.

The jirga imposed a penalty of Rs2.4m on the men of Jagirani tribe to save them of being executed and payment of Rs400,000 to police for disposing off case regarding kidnapping and murder of the 2 girls. The Larkana DIG, taking notice of the extra-judicial murders and penalty, constituted a committee under the supervision of ASP City Kamran Nawaz to probe into the matter.
