Peshawar- Police today released initial report in the killing of  Samiullah Afridi- lawyer of  Dr. Shakil Afridi,  who helped the United States track down Osama bin Laden- says he was killed by using 30 bore pistol.

In the initial details, the former advocate of Dr Afridi, while he was on his way home. It was reported that two pillion riders shot Samiullah. The report further said that He was killed by using 30 bore pistol instead of 9mm pistol, whereas many as five shells of bullets have been found at the crime scene. Samiullah received bullets in chest and throat which caused his death.

Police personnel have started investigation of the case to nab the culprits. Ehsanullah Ahsan, a spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban-linked Jamaat-ul-Ahrar group, claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s killing. On the other hand, lawyers have boycotted the courts in Peshawar, to record their protest against the assassination of Samiullah Afridi.

He recently returned to Pakistan after living abroad for three months. He had fled the country after receiving threats from militants. Samiullah Afridi was the second member of the legal team to flee following militant threats.
