Legend Hero, MM Alam launching today
LAHORE: A book launching ceremony will be held at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan on Wednesday.
The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT) and Pakistan Movement Workers’ Trust (PMWT) will jointly organise the launching ceremony of the book “Legend Hero, MM Alam” on his second anniversary. The book is written by journalist Rafique Shahzad.
NPT Chairman Rafique Tarrar will preside over the sitting speakers include Prof Rafique Ahmad, Mujeebur Rehman Shami, Dr Ajmal Niazi, Wasif Nagi and others. Guests include Lt General (r) Dr Sohail Abbas Jafri, Maj Gen (r) Ashraf Ch, Group Capt (r) Anwar Ch, Wing Commander (r) Hameed Anwar and Media Advisor to CM Khalid Butt.–Staff Reporter
JuD to hold ideology moot on 22nd
LAHORE: The Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) has announced holding the Pakistan Ideology Conference in Lahore on March 22 and invited all political and religious parties of Pakistan and Kashmir to participate in the conference.
The JuD spokesman said that arrangements were being made at the University Ground Chaburji for the conference, besides Pakistan Ideology marches would also be taken out across the country on March 23 and invited all political and religious parties to participate in these marches.
The spokesman that the JuD would also hold conferences and seminar in connection with March 23 and large public gatherings would be held in Lahore, Karachi, Faisalabad and Gujranwala to highlight that Pakistan Ideology ensures the survival of Pakistan. He said that representatives of Kashmiri political parties would also be invited to these marches and public gatherings.–Staff Reporter
Seminar at GCU
LAHORE: An international seminar was held at the Government College University on the “Informatics in Chemical and Biological Sciences” under the auspices of the university’s Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization.
Prof Dr Daniel C Hoessli from University of Geniva, Switzerland and Prof Dr Ursula Kara from National University of Singapore were the key note speakers at the one-day seminar which was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khaleequr Rahman.
GCU Dean Faculty of Science and Technology Prof Dr Islam Ullah Khan, Rafi Chair, Professor, Dr Muhammad Zakria Butt and Prof Dr Adnan also addressed the seminar which was attended by a large numbers of students and faculty members.–Staff Reporter
Car crash victim dies
LAHORE: Another injured of woman’s car hit on Ferozepur Road died at Lahore General Hospital on Tuesday, taking the death toll to three. Two persons died on spot the last day while Tanveer, 20, succumbed to injuries on Tuesday. As many as 17 victims of twin blasts outside churches in Youhanabad and five injured of woman’s car hit on Ferozepur Road are under treatment at LGH.–Staff Reporter
