Nisar directs for task force to facilitate Pak expats

ISLAMABAD - Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Tuesday instructed his ministry to constitute a task force for the facilitation of expatriate Pakistani community.
He said this during his meeting with Commissioner for Overseas Commission Punjab, Afzaal Bhatti, who called on him at Punjab House.
During the meeting, Afzaal, while raising certain issues being faced by the overseas Pakistanis, suggested that all the NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis) holders, on expiry of their cards, be allowed to visit Pakistan so that they could renew these without any hassle.
He suggested that the presence of NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) and passport officials in the diplomatic missions abroad be further strengthened for facilitating overseas Pakistanis.
The minister observed that the government would continue taking every possible step for the facilitation of the overseas Pakistanis. He said that a proposal was already under consideration to allow online NADRA registration and also applying for the passport as that would not only facilitate the overseas Pakistanis but also the people across the country.
The minister also directed the Ministry of Interior to work out a robust mechanism for further strengthening mutual coordination of FIA, NADRA and passport offices so that the issues being faced by overseas Pakistanis could be resolved effectively.
The interior minister reiterated his every possible support to the overseas Pakistanis towards the redressal of their issues at the earliest possible.
