A condolence meeting was held at Naqsh-e-Qamar Academy Block no-5 to express sorrow over sad demise of the mother of The Nation correspondent Syed Naveedul Hassan Qutib.

Senior Working Journalist Forum (SWJF) organised the meeting and was chaired by senior journalist Muhammad Aslam Malik.

A large number of SWJF members, including Qulzam Bashir, Khalid Mehmood Ch, Manzoor Hussain Bhatti, Anjum Bashir, Chacha Arshad Awan, Azhar Sohail, Shafqat Shah, Rana Javeed, Amber Bashir, Misaq Anjum, Syed Asim Shah Sherazi, Azhar Suhail, Dr Yaqoob, Abdul Sattar Jutt, Imran Farooq, Sabir Saleem, Abbas Dhool, Muhammad Khalid, Sheikh Tahir, Shafaat Shah, Javed Gujjar, Rashid Mehmood and Suhail Awan attended the meeting. The meeting concluded with a special dua for the eternal peace and rest of the departed soul.

Three days flower show to begin from 21th

ADCG Ashfaq Ahmad Ch has said he wants to make Khanewal a model district of the Punjab and enhance facilities of recreation for residents and provide healthy atmosphere for positive activities. He said that in this connection the three days annual flower show was scheduled March 21 at Rana Shabbir Stadium (Municipal stadium).

He said that Assistant Commissioner Abid Bhatti was focal person for the floral show.

He said that the district government had spent millions of rupees for establishment of new public parks; green belts and plantation on both sides of roads in the city.

He said that cleanliness in the cities and removal of encroachments form the main roads across the district were the top priority of the district government.

He urged the media men to identify and high lights problems and irregularities in the government departments.
