QUETTA – Jamhoori Watan Party leader Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti has said restoration of Nato supply is a game of dollars, therefore the rulers sometimes halt and reopen it. “The federal government has nothing to do with the interests of Balochistan,” he told journalists outside the court.

he was produced before an Additional District and Sessions judge amid tight security on Thursday.

The court adjourned the hearing till May 21.  He alleged that the rulers would give preference to their interests while restoring Nato supply and the people would be given no benefit in this regard. “If the Nato supply is revived, the people of Balochistan should be given its benefits,” he demanded.

The JWP leader said the cases registered against him were fabricated, thus “I am confident I would be released soon.”

Responding to a query, he said the rulers were constructing Gwadar Port for their own vested interests and the people of the area would not be given any benefit. He said the JWP would continue its peaceful struggle and materialise the mission of late Nawab Akbar Bugti. He said he was not being provided proper medical treatment at the jail. “I had informed the police high ups about my reservations and the government would be responsible if any untoward incident takes place”, he added.

A large number of JWP workers were also present on the occasion.
