MARDAN - The local police claimed to have arrested 364 outlaws and recovered a huge quantity of explosives and weapons during the ongoing crackdown in Mardan region.
Briefing the media on Thursday, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Mardan, Abdullah Khan, said that the police in the supervision of District Police Officer (DPO) Mardan Danishwar Khan and DPO Swabi Abdur Rasheed Khan had launched a crackdown against the criminals, raided various dens in the rural and urban circles of the range and arrested 364 outlaws, for involvement in robberies, looting and other crimes.
The DIG said that the police also recovered 188 dynamites, 180 detonators, 74 Kalashnikov rifles, 86 Kalakov rifles, 91 guns, 58 rifles, 484 pistols, 1, 7391 carriages, 6,500 grams of hashish and 120 bottles of liquor. He said the search operation had been launched to purge the area of anti-social elements.
