LAHORE – 27-year-old youth Bilal Ahmed of Misri Shah was gunned down by his drunkard friends for taking ice-roll first near Regal Chowk on Thursday.

Qila Gujjar Singh Police said that the deceased along with his friends while riding a car visited the Ice-Roll Kiosk situated on Mall Road when they scuffled over a petty issue who will take ice-roll first. On which, all the friends opened indiscriminate firing on each other. As a result, Bilal, shopkeeper Shan and two passers-by Mubeen and Saleem sustained multiple bullet injuries. Rescue 1122 said that the injured were taken to Mayo Hospital where the doctors pronounced Bilal dead. He said the condition of others was also critical.  Police concerned however claimed that several cases of various natures have been traced against the deceased Bilal at different police stations. Further investigations are underway.

Similarly, a woman, mother of six, was allegedly strangled to death by unidentified dacoits during a dacoity bid in Shahdara police area on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Asia Bibi of Miraj Park. Police sources said that dacoits barged their entry into the house early Thursday and overpowered her.

They robbed three tola gold ornaments, Rs 50,000 and other household articles. Meanwhile, the woman Asia, who had been living at a rented house along with her six children in Shahdara area, offered resistance. On which they killed her. However Arif, brother of the deceased, alleged that their rivals living in Faisalabad committed this crime as, the same culprits strangled to death his father some six years back. The body of the deceased woman was removed to the City morgue for autopsy. Further investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, 17-year-old girl Musarat Shaheen allegedly committed suicide at Bhekaywal village in Iqbal Town, Rescue 1122 officials said.

He said that the deceased girl, daughter of Liaqat Ali, had developed differences with her family over petty dispute, which forced to commit suicide. Police concerned are investigating the case to ascertain the real motive behind this death.

Moreover, a 45-year-old unidentified man was found dead on Bund Road in Shafiqabad Police area. After recovering the body, police said the man, yet to be identified, was a drug addict and he died due to excessive usage of the drugs. Later, his body was shifted to the City morgue for autopsy. Further investigations are underway.
