FDMA, PEI sign deal to extend ops to Fata

PESHAWAR - A non-government organization, the Poverty Eradication Initiative (PEI) on Thursday inked a four-year Memorandum of Understanding with the FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) under which the organization would extend its operations to FATA.
The MoU was signed by Shahid Yusaf, Chief Executive PEI and Pakistan’s Honorary Investment Counselor at Vancouver Canada and Arshad Khan, Director General FDMA at a ceremony held at the FDMA office in the provincial metropolis.
The event was attended by Gohar Ali Shah, operations manager PEI, FATA Disaster Management Authority officials, representative of NGOs and other social welfare personalities.
According to MoU PEI would extended its services to the FATA region. “PEI intervention would comprise of community infrastructure development, Health services, Youth initiative, women empowerment, agriculture uplift projects and PEI unique Economic Development Network,” Shahid Yusaf said while speaking on the occasion.
He said the PEI would able to make all the above proposals through FDMA and in collaboration with its various implementing partners based in FATA added PEI staff member would also visit the region to overlook the ongoing projects.
He said the PEI area of interest was small scale community infrastructure development project, youth development project with the special focus on women and children.
