PESHAWAR - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team on Thursday arrested Alla-ud-Din, a Postmaster Jandola, and Shah Nawaz, Assistant Postmaster Tank, for their alleged involvement in embezzlement and misappropriation in payment of pension of over Rs.38 million.
In a press release issued here said that in further investigation the accused may disclose more embezzlement in this regard. As per details, a complaint was received in the NAB mentioning fraudulent payment in military pension in Jandola, Tank and other post offices of the area.
On this, the Consequently NAB KP took notice of the matter and authorized inquiry in this regard. A thorough probe was conducted into the matter, which revealed that the amount mentioned in the complaint was far less than the actual embezzlement.
The accused persons will be produced before the Accountability Court for obtaining their physical remand to unearth further loss caused to the national exchequer, it was added.
