ISLAMABAD - Representatives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday in a meeting with Petroleum Minister informed that three sites have been identified in the southern districts for the proposed establishment of refineries in the province.

According to resources, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr Asim Hussain chaired a meeting on Draft Low BTU Gas Pricing Policy 2012 where representatives of provisional governments including Sindh, Balochistan and KP attended the meeting along with senior officers of the Petroleum Ministry.

Dr Asim Hussain told the meeting that all the provinces are being consulted for providing valuable input on Low BTU Gas Pricing Policy as well as the National Petroleum & Mineral Policy. He further said that separate policies for utilisation of Flared Gas and Marginal Gases is being formulated that will be shared with the provinces. The proposal of establishment of refineries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was also discussed in the meeting.
