SIALKOT - The police have busted a gang and arrested its four members including the ringleader for making and selling chemical-mixed milk at cheaper rates in various parts of Sialkot city.

Three out of the arrested people are brothers while Rana Mujahid, their accomplice, managed to escape. District Sanitary Inspector Rana Tassadaq Hussain, on mounting public complaints, raided a den in Naikapura and arrested four accused while making the poisonous milk by using dangerous chemicals. The team handed over the accused Sadaqat, Maraatab and Rafaqat to the police.

The accused told the police investigators that they had been running the black and illegal business of making poisonous milk and selling it on very cheaper rates at different milk shops in Sialkot city’s congested residential, commercial and industrial areas for the last several years. They added that the practice remained unabated and unchecked for the last several years by the concerned officials of Sialkot health department and police as well.

The accused also claimed to have their business network expanded in Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils as well. Sharing their formula of making the poisonous milk, the accused said that they used to use 1 kg surf, one kg oil (mustard), two kg of dry milk and a huge quantity of water for preparing one mound (40 liters) of milk. They added that they used to prepare 80 mounds (3200 liters) of such milk daily and sell it at a rate of Rs30 per liter.

Earlier, the raiding team also inculcated as many as 2,400 litres of poisonous milk which was seized from the raiding spot, the den of the accused. The accused confessed the crime.

The Naikapura police have registered a case under sections 269, 270, 273 and 101/41-2(A) against the accused on the report of District Sanitary Inspector. The police have sent the accused behind bars.

DPS best institution in division: On the direction of DPS chief patron and Faisalabad Commissioner Tahir Hussain, Faisalabad Divisional Public School (DPS) Principal Shahid Mahmood visited Toba DPS here on Wednesday. Addressing the teaching staff, he said that a training programme for local teachers would be arranged at Faisalabad DPS soon. Toba DPS Principal Col Ishaq Chaudhry appreciated the the role of Faisalabad DPS and said that the institution had distinction among all semi-government educational institutions across the division.

He further said that its students had obtained top positions over the past seven year, in annual examinations, debates, essay writings and games.
