Workshop on gender responsive budgeting held

JHELUM - The Gender Support Unit (GSU) conducted a daylong training workshop on “Gender Responsive Budgeting” (GRB) at the District Health Development Centre (DHDC).
The objective of the workshop was to sensitize Planning and Budgeting Officers on Gender Responsive Budgeting. Gender Specialist Sadia Hussain while addressing the participants highlighted the initiative of GRB. She said that the introduction of GRB was facilitated by the fact that the govt had introduced a medium-term budget framework.
This provided an opportunity to introduce gender into the budgetary reforms. She also discussed the pre and post-budget tools of GRB and linkage of GRB tools with the budget cycle.
At the end, DHDC Director Dr Naseer Ahmad, EDO Education, DO (SW) distributed certificate of appreciation among the participants.
