Islamabad - Taking strict measures to ensure quality of items at Capital Development Authority-administered weekly bazaars, the CDA has fined and served notices on many stall holders on violation of the rules.

During the month of April, Bazaar Administration fined 25 stall holders and suspended licence of five stalls for over-charging, selling unhygienic edible items and misbehaving with the consumers. Moreover, 167 stall-holders were also served notices for encroachments.

Meanwhile, Member Administration and Estate CDA, Amer Ali Ahmed has directed the bazaar administration to ensure sale of all items at prescribed rates and take legal action against the violators. He directed to cancel the licences and impose fine on those stall-holders who are either providing substandard and unhygienic edible items or not dealing with the consumers in accordance with already set SOPs.
