ISLAMABAD  - The masses will meet some relief from the biting heat as a new westerly wave has entered the upper parts of country, improving chances of rains and thunderstorm in these areas. The rain spell started on Sunday is expected to sustain for a week as per the prediction of Meteorological Department.

The Met office predicted rains with dust storm in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, upper FATA, Rawalpindi division, Islamabad, Lahore Division, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. It also forecasted high mercury level in rest parts of the country in coming days as whether in northern Punjab and interior Sindh will be hot.

 Temperature at many places, including include Larkana, Rahim Yar Kha, Bahawalpur and Multan, will touch 44 degree centigrade. While mercury level in Jacobabad, Sibbi and adjacent areas of Balochistan is expected to cross 45 degree centigrade.
