ISLAMABAD, May 18 (NNI): Foreign Office Director Shafqat Ali Cheema accused of human trafficking and owning illegal assets has been sent to jail for 12-day physical remand on Wednesday while raids have also been conducted on Cheema’s identification.

Court was informed that Cheema made assets worth billion of rupees which were more than his income and that he has also been involved in human trafficking.

Rs 40 million 70 hundred thousand and valuable artifacts have also been recovered from his residence. On the other hand, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team along with the suspect reached Foreign Office and enquired other officials.

NAB team has confiscated all the equipment used by the arrested officer.

Other than his office, NAB officials also raided at his home. During the raid 125 bottles of foreign liquor, ivory tusks and valuable artifacts worth millions of rupees have also been recovered
