Rawalpindi - A 15-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised by two men here at Alaabad area, sources informed The Nation yesterday.

The police lodged a case on the complaint of the victim’s father while the accused managed to escape, sources said.

According to sources, the two men namely Aqib and Naveed allegedly caught the boy and took him to a deserted place where they sodomised him. After committing the crime, the accused fled.

Talking to The Nation, Sub Inspector Tasawar Shah, who is investigating the case, said that the police are trying to arrest the accused after filing a case against them. He said that it was confirmed by the doctors in medico-legal report that the child was sexually assaulted.

Meanwhile, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja has directed SSP (investigations) to hold meetings twice a month with the investigation officers probing crimes of heinous nature to improve the process.

He also ordered for immediate arrest of the hardcore criminals to bring peace in the region.

The RPO called for constitution of special teams under supervision of divisional SPs to curb auto theft. The RPO issued these directions at a crime meeting held here yesterday.

The meeting was attended by City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, district police officers of Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum, and SSP (Legal) Rana Muhammad Ilyas.

As the sacred month of Ramazan is approaching, the police should evolve a comprehensive security plan to guard all the mosques, Imambargahs and bazaars in the region, the RPO said.

The top police boss reviewed the overall crime rate of the region and expressed his satisfaction over low crime rate in Jhelum, Attock and Chakwal.
