BAJAUR/SWAT (Agencies) - Ten people including four officials of security forces were killed and several others injured in a suicide blast in Khawazakhela while five militants were killed in shelling by forces on their positions in Bajaur Agency on Monday. ISPR confirming the incident said that suicide bomber hit security forces checkpost Monday at 11:15 am near Gashkor, Khawazakhela in Swat. Ten people including 4 security forces personnel embraced Shahadat and 17 others were injured including three security personnel. After the blast, the security forces cordoned off the entire area. Officials said the body parts of suicide bomber have been found who is said to be between the age of 16 or 17. Meanwhile, forces carried out shelling in areas of Tehsil Mamond and destroyed six key hideouts of militants while five militants were killed in the shelling. According to information, the number of deaths could rise while militants on the other hand killed tribal elder Malik Jumadar Khan who was kidnapped the other day and his body has been recovered. The tribes of Salarzai and Mamond have demanded to continue the operation till complete elimination of militants from Bajaur Agency. Meanwhile, the security forces continued their operation in several areas of Tehsil Kabal including Kabal Khas, Akhonkalay and Zora. However, there was no report of any loss of life in the shelling. Kanju Kabal Road has been closed for all type of traffic. Meanwhile, unknown militants attacked the Tehsil Ghalnai Headquarters in Mehmand Agency with heavy weapons. But the security forces retaliated and the militants managed to escape by taking advantage of the night. There was no loss of life in cross-firing. Meanwhile, as many as four civilians were killed and several others injured when security forces shelled different hideouts of militants in Mohmand Agency, official sources said on Monday. Security forces fired mortar shells on militants' hideouts from all sides in which many shells hit houses of the civilians in the area. A witness said militants also continued firing at security forces, confining the people to their houses. Another eyewitness said a mortar shell struck a house in Dawizai area, leaving 3 dead and 3 others injured. Residents said mortar shells hit houses in Michani and Utmanzai areas that killed one person and wounded many others. Meanwhile, a motorcycle rider who was shot by security forces the other day succumbed to his injuries Monday. The locals said that authorities have imposed curfew for 10 days. On the other hand, operation against the militants in Shabqadar area of District Charsadda entered into third day. Forces pounded the suspected hideouts of the militants with heavy weapons. Locals said forces pounded two times the militants' sanctuaries in Shnoghondi area while two police checkposts were set up in Juma Khan Koroona and Kala Shah Baig. At least four civilians were injured as a result of heavy shelling on Juma Khan Koroona Sunday night. The spokesman of local Taliban in Swat, Muslim Khan, claimed that they had abducted three security personnel in last two days. He said they had so far abducted six security persons. Security officials had confirmed the disappearance of one security person in Swat. Muslim Khan demanded the release of 25 men detained in different jails in exchange for these six security persons. Five Taliban killed in Bajaur Our Staff Reporter from Khar adds: At least 20 suspected militants, five of them stated to be commanders, were handed over to the Political Administration of Bajaur Agency here on Monday. A jirga of Utman Khel tribe was held at the agency headquarter Khar, in which five wanted commanders including Abdul Malik, Bakht Munir, Ali Muhammad, Sultan and Sabz Ali were handed over to the Political Administration.
