KARACHI - Pakistan Navy has established a three-day free medical camp for the civilian populace of Ormara and adjoining areas from Monday. This was announced in a press release of the ISPR (Navy) issued here on Monday. It said that approximately 3,000 patients are likely to benefit from this camp. The medical camp is aimed at providing skilled medical treatment to the local populace and educate them on public health, prevention of diseases, personal hygiene and sanitation of living areas. The parents are also being advised on correctable diseases of children and women counselled on mother/child health care related matters and family planning. The medical staff comprising general physicians, specialist and para-medical staff will provide free medical treatment and medicines for general health care, ophthalmology, dentistry, gynaecology, ENT, surgery and skin care. Facilities of ultrasonography, ECG, X-ray and blood tests are also being provided at the camp. At Ormara, the Base Medical Centre equipped with four beds detention room, a laboratory, X-ray and ECG facility provides medical facilities to the locals frequently. Besides, Pakistan Navy is in the process of establishing a 100 bed Services Hospital at Jinnah Naval Base Ormara to look after medical needs of service personnel and civilians as well.
