Sindh Police stand nowhere

KARACHI - The Sindh Police are clueless about the motive of the terrorists, who conducted bombing at Sea View on Wednesday. Police officials have no answers and since there is no (private) eyewitness, the attack remains a mystery. Officials claim that the attackers detonated their suicide vests after they were hunted down by policemen deputed at Sea View. Their (terrorists) vehicle packed with 35-kg explosive material was destroyed completely. But interestingly, bodies of two of them were destroyed just partially. The weapons carried by the attackers also felt the heat of the blast but remained in original condition. Sources on the condition of anonymity said that the blast had become a mystery because police were yet to prove their claims. Sources privy to the matter said investigators were trying to dig out the actual motive behind the incident whether it was a dramatic incident or the city narrowly escaped a big disaster. Three special investigation teams have been formed to investigate the events surrounding the bombing. DIG Commandant Shaukat Ali Shah, SIU chief SSP Raja Omar Khattab and CID are leading the three probe teams. The sources said that samples had been sent for DNA test to identify the terrorists. Nevertheless, two of them were identified as Atiq Swati and Shoaibur Rehman, residents of (North) Karachi.
