ISLAMABAD - AJK won the first Bhutto Shaheed Blind Cricket Championship after defeating hosts Islamabad by 86 runs in the final here at Quaaid-I-Azam University ground on Saturday.
Batting first AJK scored 278/2 in allotted 20 overs, skipper M. Jamil topped scored with 87 while Irfan made 86 runs. Needing 279 runs for victory, Islamabad could only manage 192/5. Yasir Andaleeb made 84 runs. AJK skipper Jamil took 2/42 and earned man of the match award. Bushra Aitzaz, chairperson Women Wing was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed trophies and prizes among the players and teams.
Champions AJK were given winners trophy and a cash prize of Rs 30,000 while runners up Islamabad received losers trophy and cash of Rs 15,000.
