RAWALPINDI – Commissioner Rawalpindi Imdad Ullah Bosal conducted a visit on Saturday to observe the ongoing two-mega development projects of construction of Marir Chowk Tunnel and Pir Wadhai Underpass.

At first, he went to Marir Chowk Tunnel to inspect the pace of work. Deputy Director Engineering RDA Umar Farooq was accompanied him during his visit. While giving briefing, Deputy Director Engineering RDA informed the Commissioner that the cost of the project was Rs. 43 million. The railway department would complete its initial work upto Nov. 22 and afterwards the construction work of this project would be started.

Commissioner Imdad Ullah Bosal directed on the occasion that this project should be completed with in the stipulated period of time so that the commuters would be given better travelling facilities and their precious time could be saved.

He further said that with the completion of this project, Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif would fulfill the long-standing demand of public. Strict monitoring is carried out of the project to complete the project with the usage of standard material. No negligence by any contracting firm in this regard would be tolerated at any cost.

He said that the people could be benefited for long time with the completion of this project. Later, the Commissioner visited the ongoing project of Pir Wadahi underpass. He directed Punjab Highways officials to complete the project with in the stipulated period so that the traffic problems facing by the commuters coming from Peshawar to Rawalpindi would be finished once for all and the people of adjoining areas and Chohr Chowk could utilize the project and to avoid the traffic blockage on Pir Wadhai more and the standard of construction material should be kept in view for the durability on this project, he added.
