LAHORE – A delegation, led by Political Consular of British High Commission Susan Hyland, called on PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz here Saturday.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interests, women’s role in national development and measures adopted for empowerment of women in Punjab came under discussion.

While talking to the political consular, Maryam said the Punjab government had made legislation for giving rights to the women in property and inheritance while the government made progress in implementation of quota reserved for women in government jobs.

She said the women were also taking active part in national politics. The PML-N leader informed the delegates about the keen interest of girl students in education and various steps of Punjab government including provision of laptops to students.

Hyland lauded the steps taken by Punjab government for public betterment.
