KARACHI  - Shah Faisal Town administration has declared the routes of mourning processions and the surroundings of imambargahs as no-parking zones and has banned parking of all kind of vehicles including motorbikes during Aushura.

Extraordinary arrangements for cleanliness and lightening have also been made on these routes and around the imambargahs, said a news release here on Saturday.

The Regulation and Anti-encroachment department of the Town had cleared many encroachments from the main bazar road of Shah Faisal Colony No.01 with the consultation and co-operation of the management committees of the imambargahs, organizers of the processions and the area people.     

Member of Sindh Assembly from Muttaheda Qaumi Movement (MQM) Nishat Muhammad Zia Qadri made a detailed visit of the town, along with Town Chief Officer Kamal Mustafa and other senior officers to review the arrangements particularly relating to removal of encroachments.

He directed officers of the concerned departments to ensure provision of all required facilities to the mourners in consultation with the organizers of the processions. Complete survey should be made of these routes before the arrival of mourning processions, he directed.

He also met with the organizers of the processions who thanked the parliamentarians of MQM, officials and workers of the party for providing the municipal facilities and ensuring peace in the town during Muharram.

They also acknowledged the efforts of the town administration and workers in this regard.

MPA Nishat Muhammad Zia Qadri said that on the directives of MQM Quaid, Altaf Hussain, the Haqparst leadership and workers were making the best possible efforts to provide all kind of support and facilities to the mourners to promote religious harmony and brotherhood.

He appealed to the people belonging to different religious sects to show tolerance and unity among their ranks during Muharram to fight out the hostile elements busy in conspiracies to disturb the city on the occasion.
