Unnoticed public woes of Rawalpindi curfew

ISLAMABAD - The government and its departments kept totally disassociated from the problem being faced by the common people while there was curfew imposed in Rawalpindi to prevent any more lethal follow-ups of the Ashura day killings.
One of the many problems observed was the troubles for the air passengers at the Islamabad International Airport. All the roads towards airport were closed and no vehicle could go there to pick their loved ones and same was the situation for those who wanted to fly out.
From all sides to airport it was several kilometers distance that the passengers were forced to go on foot. The airport authorities had made no arrangements for the passengers to drop them at a convenient point there, they could find some conveyance and it also had made no arrangements to pick the passengers from the road block points.
Hundreds of people were observed standing at the Air Port Chowk that is not less than 5 kilometers far from the airport. These people were waiting for their loved ones coming on foot from the airport with their luggage.
But the authorities had nothing to do with it and they seemed not concerned about what people were suffering from. Security agencies had orders to block the roads and they were following the orders and it was not their duty to facilitate the passengers neither they knew that who was responsible.
Normally airlines do not take responsibility to drop the passengers at their doorstep or some other place so they too were not concerned about this. People standing at road blockage point were seemed very much irritant due to the situation. Are they not responsible to take care of other problems while they have imposed curfew in the city?
But there was no one to listen to their complaints and closure of cellular services were even adding to their problems, as they were not able to contact their respective passengers whom they were expecting and were there to pick them.
The situation that the city faced during previous two days, made it very clear that the government had no capcity to deal with any emergency like situation and the masses could only pray that no such incident happen in the country, otherwise they are well aware about their care takers.
