ISLAMABAD- Authorities have decided to deploy more than 8,000 police and paramilitary personnel in Islamabad in the wake of PTI’s Nov 30 anti-government rally in the federal capital.

According to a private TV channel, reinforcement of 8,000 extra personnel has been demanded by Islamabad authorities from the police force of Punjab and Kashmir, with deployment of FC in the Diplomatic Enclave and other sensitive buildings in the Red Zone.

The extra police contingents would perform duties at entry and exit points of Islamabad and around the rally venue of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Islamabad. PTI chief Imran Khan, warning the PML-N government of a ‘decisive fight’, has given a call to his party supporters to come to Islamabad on Nov 30 for a massive anti-government show, seeking judicial inquiry into alleged vote fraud during 2013 general elections.

In the Islamabad, roads leading to sensitive state buildings are likely to be sealed with shipping containers, sources said. The PTI leaderships have not so far sought permission for the rally.

The Interior Ministry has extended deployment of army personnel in Islamabad for three more months under Article 245 of the Constitution. The military was called in July this year to protect sensitive government installations in the wake of protest sit-ins called by PTI and Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri.
