Rawalpindi - Excise and Taxation officials have sealed more than two hundred residential and commercial buildings in the city over non-payment of property tax.

The owners of these buildings were defaulters of more than Rs 10 million of taxes. The grand operation against defaulters was launched on the direction of Director Excise and Taxation Tanvir Abbas Gondal at commercial buildings along Murree road, Faizabad, Satellite Town, F-block, Pindora and those found to be non filers were issued warnings and their residential and commercial buildings were sealed. Officials of E&T department made it clear that operation against the defaulters would continue and no leniency would be shown to any one. They said there are clear instructions from the Punjab government not to give any consideration to political pressure.

Meanwhile, the EDO Education Rawalpindi has extended date for registration of private schools in district Rawalpindi up to November 30. Directives have been issued to heads of all non registered educational institutions to get register their schools immediately. According to press release issued by EDO Education deadline of November 16 was given to all non registered educational institutions in connection with their registration which had expired.

All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association had sought further extension in the date for registration; therefore, date has been extended upto November, 30.
