Rawalpindi - A delegation from Selcuk University Konia, Turkey, visited Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) yesterday and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for bilateral collaboration in research and educational areas covering various disciplines. 

PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad and Pro Vice Chancellor of Selcuk University Prof Dr Mehmet Musa Özcan signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.

Under the MoU, both universities agreed to develop academic cooperation in various fields and decided to initiate collaborative activities in academic areas of mutual interest such as exchange of faculty, students and expertise, conducting collaborative research and research projects as well as sharing of academic information and materials. On the occasion, Dr Ahmad gave a detailed presentation on the ongoing activities and new initiatives of the university. He also highlighted the possible areas of collaboration and future perspectives in research and educational programmes.

Prof Özcan expressed his optimism in establishing strong relations between both countries and emphasised that he was keen to build Turkey’s positive image in Pakistan. He expressed his deep appreciation for the excellent work of Arid University and concluded that both of institutes would continue working on this collaboration for the betterment of students and teachers and both of the universities will get benefit from this joint programme.
