Lahore - A police inspector yesterday was dismissed as he failed to control crimes in his jurisdiction.

A police spokesperson said Lahore DIG (Operations) Haider Ashraf dismissed from service Inspector Abdul Wahid over poor performance, reporting a bogus case, and delaying registration of criminal cases.

The Operations police chief sacked the officer while hearing policemen at an Orderly Room yesterday. The DIG also forfeited one-year service for three inspectors including Rana Muhammad Irham, Muhammad Akmal and Ijaz Ahmed.

The police officer also awarded punishments to another six officials over different charges ranging from misuse of power to faulty investigations.
