ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court asked the Election Commission of Pakistan to decide whether or not to postpone Local Government elections, scheduled for tomorrow.

The Sindh High Court, on 17-11-15, had declared the delimitation in eight districts of Sindh province void. It had also ordered the ECP to complete fresh delimitation in eight districts and hold the LB polls in those districts as per schedule i.e. on 19-11-15.

Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, heading a three-judge bench, asked that instead of them passing any order regarding postponement of elections the ECP should decide the matter itself.

The ECP counsel told The Nation that tomorrow LB polls  will be held in five districts while the elections in eight districts Hyderbad, Mirpurkhas, Basin, Tharparkar,   Tando Allahyar, Jamshoro, Naushero Feroz and Sheed Benazirabad will be delayed.

The ECP also ordered to complete the delimitation in eight districts.
