Islamabad: The Supreme Court (SC) has adjourned till today the hearing in an appeal plea filed by Khawaja Saad Rafiq , PML-N leader and MNA from NA-125, against the Election Tribunal (ET) decision. Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali has remarked “we will have to see now irregularity has taken place in the polls or any ill intent was behind it.

Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed remarked “this is not such a big matter. Arguments should not go beyond more than two and a half days. Its reply can be given within two and a half minutes. Time is coming now that election of patwaris be held. A 3-member bench of SC presided over by CJP Anwar Zaheer Jamali took up the case for hearing today. Khawaja Haris advocate counsel for Khawaja Saad Rafiq took the plea that his client had bagged 38000 votes more than his rival candidate during general election. It is not a legal issue but its repercussions are grave.

Hamid Khan got changed the staff and DRO and RO had given statements in this regard. Justice Qazi Faiz Essa remarked these DROs and ROs were taken from where. They were bureaucrats.

Khawaja Haris said they were not bureaucrats. These officers were taken from judiciary during general elections. CJP remarked “if you can complete arguments within two days then do it. This bench will not be there in next week. Khawaja Haris said “if this case is fixed for hearing at No 1 in the morning, he will try to complete the arguments. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till Thursday.
