Central Coordinator of Pakistan Engineers Forum Syed Imtiaz Hussan Shah has accused the government of accomplishing foreign agenda by privatising power distribution companies and Pakistan Steel, saying it will bring a storm of unemployment in the country.

Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, he added that the above mentioned institutions played the role of backbone in national economy and if the government insisted to privatise them, a big country-wide protest drive would be launched with the collaboration of workers of these institutions. He declared that the Pakistan Engineers Forum would unveil the anti-Pakistan agenda of the government.

He demanded the government to trust local engineers instead of giving projects like Pak-China economic corridor, Orange Train and Metro to foreign companies. He said that shelving Bhasha Dam project was tantamount to pushing the country into darkness and towards a horrible water crisis. He said that Dasu Dam could produce electricity but water could not be stored in this dam and if it is constructed before Bhasha Dam it would be filled with silt within 25 years. He demanded the government to construct Bhasha and Kalabagh Dams forthwith.
