ISLAMABAD: Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Shareef is visiting the United States to discuss defence related issues, asking media to not exaggerate the things.
Addressing an international conference regarding security of South Asia, he said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will connect Pakistan with the land locked Central Asian States.
He said the Corridor will be beneficial for the whole region, adding increase contacts among the regional countries will help promote peace. He said Pakistan is playing role to eradicate evil of terrorism and condemn any such incident in any part of the world.
The Advisor said Pakistan favour normalization of relations with India and also expects reciprocity from India. He said Pakistan-US relations are expanding. He pointed out that different working groups are functioning which will help further strengthening bilateral relations. He said we have robust relations with Russia which are growing in diverse fields.
Aziz said Pakistan wanted cordial relations with all neighbor countries including India. He, however, said India also play positive role for building friendly ties. He stated that India is promoting such elements those are opposing CPEC, asking New Delhi to stop opposition of the project as it will be beneficial for entire region.
The adviser said bilateral ties between Pakistan and Russia are further strengthening but Islamabad is partner of Washington in many things.
Executive Director of Centre for Information Strategic Studies (CISS) Ali Sarwar Naqvi while addressing the forum said Indian Ocean is called with the name of Indian Ocean but it’s not belonged to only India.
Deputy Chief of Mission of Chinese Embassy said China is working for better future of the region and playing active role in eradication of terrorism. He said China doesn’t want to resolve all issues with dialogue.
