Sindh LG minister removed after differences with Khursheed Shah

Karachi: In an overnight decision, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah withdrew portfolio of local government from Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, just a day before commencement of municipal elections’ second phase in the province. Shah was made Local Government minister in July this year.

According to reports, Shah lost the ministry as a result of his dispute with veteran PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah, over district chairman’s seat. “Both Sukkur-based PPP leaders had locked horns over seat of Sukkur district chairman they were demanding for their sons,” a source said.

He said Chief Minister took notice of their row and resultantly withdrew Shah’s portfolio overnight through a hastily issued notification that was not bearing even CM’s signature.

The development came a day before second phase of municipal elections scheduled to be held on Nov 19 in 15 districts of Sindh.
