PESHAWAR - Afghan consulate in Peshawar conferred highest national award Ghazi Mir Bacha award to prominent Pashto singer Khyal Mohammad Khan on Thursday for his contribution in the promotion of Pashto music and ghazal.

Addressing on the occasion, Afghan Consul General Abdulla Waheed Poyan said that giving the highest national award of Ghazi Mir Bacha to Khyal Mohammad was aimed to convey a message of brotherhood, peace and friendship between Afghanistan and Pakistan. He said that this award will encourage Pakhtun musicians to portray their soft image in world of music.

The award ceremony was held in Afghan consulate Peshawar, where Afghan consul General Abdullah Waheed Poyan, member of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Shaukat Yousafzai, MPA Ashtiaq Urmar, ANP former senator Haji Mohammad Adil, ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Afrasiab Khattak, literary figure professor Abaseen Yousafzai, and Pashto singer Majabeen Kazalbash were present.
