KARACHI - FPCCI Horticulture Committee Regional Chairman Ahmad Jawad has urged the policy makers to help develop a national consensus regarding dams in the country.

“Lack of dams is causing massive wastage of water and adding to the woes of the agriculturists as well as many of the industrial sectors,” he said. "Loss worth Rs25 billion is caused to the country due to lack of storage dams in the country," he added. He said people must be made to realise that mismanagement of water and inadequate storage is fast emerging as the biggest threat to the agriculture sector, the backbone of the national economy.
