JAHANIAN-Veteran politician Javed Hashmi has said that governance style of Nawaz Sharif is not appreciable but the steps taken against him cannot be described correct.
“Nawaz Sharif tenure is not laudable but it is the people who have the right to decide about it and not someone else. The steps taken against him cannot be termed correct”, he said this while talking to media men here Friday.
He said that politicians are involved in leg pulling of each other. “Mistakes are committed. Nawaz Sharif has also committed mistakes but Nawaz is, however, a patriotic politician. If he stands by his stance, he will make the country safe,” he pointed out. Hashmi said that a question is often asked from him if his love for Nawaz Sharif has awakened and he always reply that the steps taken against Nawaz have aroused the love of people for him who used to hate Nawaz Sharif. He claimed that Nawaz vote bank has swelled due to the steps taken against him. He went on to say that conspiracies are being hatched against the democracy and constitution. Therefore, all the political parties should get united. He underlined that a way for PPP has become difficult. “Possibility is there it can have no candidate for fielding in next elections,” he anticipated. “Had I not resigned then the assembly and the system would have perished,” he claimed, adding that he has saved the present system and assembly by sacrificing seat.

Anti-polio swoop from 22nd

HAFIZABAD Our Staff reporter- Three-day anti-polio campaign will be launched across the district from November 22.
While reviewing arrangements made by the Health Department and WHO for the campaign, Deputy Commissioner Saleha Saeed called on the officials to launch the campaign on war footing, warning that stern action would be taken against indifferent and work shirkers.
District Health Authority CEO Dr Hamid Rafique and WHO representative Dr Masood informed the DC that 206,104 kids below 5 years would be administered anti-polio drops by 482 teams including 397 mobile teams which would visit door-to-door under the supervision of 87 area in-charge and 42 zonal supervisors. The DC called on Ulema and members civil society to cooperate with the staff to ensure 100 percent results.
